Hi, everyone! Hope you're all having a good week and maybe even getting some time to rest before the school year kicks off. I’m officially back at work and deep into planning mode as I get ready for students to return in just a few weeks!
As we all know, those first few weeks in the library are so important. It’s the sweet spot for building excitement around reading and setting the tone for library expectations. Book care is always one of the very first things I cover with my students. If we want those books to last the year (or longer!), our students need clear, simple guidance on how to take care of them.
To help with that, I created a set of coloring bookmarks that go hand-in-hand with the book care activity featured in my “August/September Librarian Choice Board”. These bookmarks are an easy, engaging way to reinforce those book care tips, plus they give students a little something to color and personalize.
I’m offering the bookmarks FREE for the next few weeks, so feel free to grab them, try them out with your classes, and let me know how it goes.
Let’s start the new school year strong—with a little fun and all the right tools to help our students take care of their books (and love the library a little more each visit).
And, if you are liking the Book Bee in the Library content, do consider supporting our small business and buying a thing or two. We appreciate you!
