I hope everyone’s week has started well! It’s been a busy whirlwind here with the start of the school year! I’ve been diving into all the little details that help make the libraries run smoothly, and getting all the book battles documents and flyers up to date.

To help keep your library fresh, engaging, and fun, I’m excited to share this month’s FreeView for the BBITL September Choice Board! Here’s what you’ll find inside:

  1. Bookmark for Diary of a Wimpy Kid Fans: A handy list of read-alike suggestions for students who enjoy this funny, school days series.

  2. Year-Round Reading Promotion Ideas : A quick-reference list of creative ways to keep students reading from September to June.

  3. "You’ve Been Caught… Reading" Cards : Comic-inspired been caught reading cards with a fun twist: an idea to highlight who got “caught” reading and share it with your school community.

  4. Hispanic Heritage Month Presentation: A shareable video featuring brief bios and photos of 22 notable Americans of all ages. Perfect to use year after year.

  5. Dewey Bingo: Includes the handout and bingo cards for a fun way to build Dewey Decimal knowledge.

  6. Free Rewards List: Creative, no-cost ideas to recognize students without spending a dime.

  7. Dewey Decimal Bookmark: A quick reference for students, with space to add their own favorite sections.

  8. Story Cube Templates: Roll the cubes after reading to spark discussion and make story connections with students.

Plus, I'm working on October’s Choice Board which features library centers filled with engaging, hands-on activities to get students even more excited about visiting the library.

Also, we are now on Pinterest! Look for our book lists in the upcoming months. I'll be sharing book recommendations for a variety of topics, so be sure to find and bookmark us on Pinterest.

I’d love to hear your thoughts, so comments are always welcome!
